Ominous Blood stain ft. Some Feet

Life's not fair... Is it, my little friend?

Throughout your life, you yourself have inevitably gotten at least a bruise or scrape of some kind. Point being, it is near impossible to live life without gaining some form of injury; And the same goes for the creatures in Grave of Willows!

While the Tears of The House are for the most part safe from severe afflictions, things can happen. This guide serves as a rule of thumb on what you most likely could and could not do.

As the group develops and certain events occur, this list may change...

Tier 1.png

Tier 1

  • Scrapes & Bumps

  • Bruising

  • Minor sickness (Ex. Common cold)

Very minor injuries and sicknesses. This would be the most common occurrence, as the Tears are closely monitored, but accidents and scuffles can occur before adults step in. If an infection occurs, the tier could increase. These heal rather quickly and aren't permanent. Sickness isn't any more severe than the common cold.
You can freely give your Tear Tier 1 afflictions.

Tier 2.png

Tier 2

  • Cuts

  • Moderate Bleeding

  • Severe Bruising

  • Moderate sickness

  • Infections

For the most part, Tier 2 injuries would result from fights with other tears. Or, perhaps you're incredibly unlucky and clumsy and ran straight into a wall. Maybe you're more naive and came across something sharp, or you got into something toxic without knowing it? Children will be children, despite how much Mom tries to teach cautiousness with the Tears. She won't like it.
You can give your Tear Tier 2 afflictions.

Tier 3.png

Tier 3

  • Gashes & Deep cuts

  • Heavy Bloodshed

  • Serious Infections

  • Severe Illness

  • Fractures & Broken Bones

Something really bad happened.

Maybe you were too pushy, maybe you bothered the wrong kid, maybe you just didn't bother getting your injuries checked and hid them from everyone.

Everything got worse.

You are restricted when giving your Tear Tier 3 afflictions. Inquire about it with the group!

Tier 4.png

Tier 4

  • Scarring (Must not affect any of the five senses.)

... By the gods, what happened to you?!

Who did this to you?!

At this time, you cannot give your Tear Tier 4 afflictions.

Tier 5.png

Tier 5

  • Severe Scarring (May inhibit any of the five senses or body functionality.)

  • Loss of limbs

  • Disfigurements such as Blindness, Deafness, etc.

  • Potentially fatal illness.

M-MOM!!

At this time, you cannot give your Tear Tier 5 afflictions. Unless they were born with such. (Look below!)

Tier 6

  • Death.

At this time, you cannot kill your characters.

- Tiers 4 & 5 are automatically locked until the player's account as reached a total Wisp count of at least 300. Additionally, Tier 6 is locked until the player's account has reached a total Wisp count of at least 800. You will not be able to apply these afflictions to any of your characters until this requirement has been filled. Certain events, however, allow you to bypass this rule.

- Tiers 4-6 also have cooldowns when permanently disfiguring or killing a character. You will not be able to do so within that Tier again until the cooldown is up. These cooldowns apply as follows:
Tier 4 has a cooldown of 1 Month, orientated to the character.
Tier 5 has a cooldown of 3 Months, orientated to the character.
Tier 6 has a cooldown of 5 Months, orientated to the player's account.

- Tiers 4 and 5 have requirements when disfiguring a character. The image should be lined and colored with a simple background as the bare minimum. They also require a story of how they received the terrible blow. For the bare minimum, the story should have these word counts respectively:
Tier 4 - 300 Words.
Tier 5 - 500 Words.
- Tier 6 also has requirements.
The image should be a finished piece-- fully colored, shaded with a detailed background. It also should have a story of at least 850 words relating to the character's death.

Disfigurement rules

With Tier 4, you can give your characters scars that do not inhibit any of their five senses. This can include things such as a rip in their ear or a cracked, even broken horn. You may give multiple scars to your character in one instance, but it must not be excessive. Once a character receives a scar, it cannot simply be removed.

Tier 4 Scarring

With Tier 5, you can give your characters multiple types of disfigurements that can affect their senses and mobility to varying degrees.

Severe scarring
may affect any of your character's five senses. For example, their sense of touch. Alternatively, you can also do things such as permanently damage their jaw or eyes, even paralyze them. This scarring may cover a large portion of the body.

Removing a limb is self-explanatory. From their ear to their leg or wing, as long as it isn't fatal to the character.

You cannot damage the magic tear. Doing so would result in death.

Once a character receives a permanent injury, it cannot simply be removed. It is permanent, and they must live with it.

Tier 5 Scarring & Disfigurements

In Grave Of Willows, Tears can be born with disfigurements such as Blindness or a missing limb. However, they abide by the rules stated from before, meaning your first character will most likely not have a disfigurement.

Additionally, in the description of their application, you must have
a minimum of a 350-word story of how your Tear goes about their life with the disfigurement, as stated on the creation guide. When handling these disabilities, (Additionally, mental) we expect our members to treat them with care and respect, and really flesh out the character into something more!

We do not consider small things such as Colorblindness or a lack of a sense of smell needed to be locked behind this system, so here is a list of things that this affects:

- Blindness (Partial and Full)
- Deafness (Partial and Full)

- Muteness (Selective does not fall under this!)
- Missing limb (Can be as small as a few digits on the hand or toes missing.)
- Something odd with their appearance-- such as a crooked jaw, or never growing any teeth.
