At some point in their life, as a child or adult, most folk in Grave of Willows will experience a change to their physical forms! These changes can vary widely and new Attachments are being discovered often, no one exactly knows what they should expect. But in their culture, it's treated as naturally as growing up and most won't think much of it.

In order to earn an Attachment, they are mostly based on two things: A grading system and a tally system! 


The Tally System takes advantage of little dancing orbs of what appears to be cold flame-- wisps! These Wisps are gained over time by the player through various means, simply uploading an image to the group or participating in events and prompts! Wisps player-bound and under normal circumstances, should NEVER deplete.


The grading system is to categorize Attachments into certain Tiers, based on the number of Wisps required for the upgrade. The higher the grade, the more 'extravagant' these Attachments tend to look! These grades go through 0-7, with 6 being the category for limited edition or rare Attachments, and 7 being labeled for        Attachments.

Tears are only able to nab Attachments from Grades 0, 1, 6, 7! The exception to this rule is via Adopt, Breeding, Event, Item or YCH. Adults are unrestricted, they can even nab upgrades from as low as Grade 0 despite no longer being a tear! (*ahem* a bit of a late bloomer, aren't you?)
